Conditions:

  • Winds SSE 14 mph

Observations:

  • Today's focus was to concentrate on nutrition and running the first part of my run slower than the second part. I succeeded with both goals.
  • I picked up my pace at mile 16. I still had a lot of energy if I had chosen to run more miles.
  • Next week, I will increase my speed for the first part of my run to hover around 9:50. With this faster pace, I'll have a clearer idea as to how much I can realistically push my pace and at what mile that increase should begin.
  • There is no way that I would have finished 26.2 miles under 4:00:10 today with my slow pace at the start.
  • My final 4 miles were at a pace of 9:38.

Great workout; excellent mileage. I love those Triumphs too!

I feel as if my running mojo is returning. Perhaps the PA blizzard was a blessing after all!?!?! I see that you have a few more weeks until Boston! Bring it on! Your training looks solid! Should be a good finishing time for you!
